Marble imitations - Griotte d'Italie

Officially this marble is called Red Griotte, but for commercial reasons it was changed into Griotte from Italy. Unlike the name presumes the marble comes from the region of Hérault in the south of France.
It’s a spotted marble with the colours red and brown. Here and there the marble contains a goniatite (small fossilized shell) full of white calcite, this is called a ‘partridge eye’.
