Ash comes from Europe and North America, the wood is whitish to light yellow-brown and the grain is rough. In old trees dark-coloured heartwood sometimes occurs as well. Ash has a large elasticity and is therefore used a lot in the physical culture equipment production and for making the handles of tools.
